General FAQ
Answers to Your Questions

Is Therapy Right for Me?

Starting therapy is a meaningful step, and it’s completely normal to wonder if it’s the right one. Therapy is an investment of time, energy, and resources—and finding the right fit with a therapist is key to feeling supported and making progress.

At Dignity Counseling, I offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can ask questions and get a feel for how I work. This can be by phone, video, or in person—whichever makes you most comfortable. During our consultation, we’ll talk through your goals, what brought you here, and what you can expect from the therapy process. If it turns out I’m not the best fit for your needs, I’ll do my best to refer you to a trusted colleague in the community who may be a better match.

I believe that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and cared for in their healing journey, and finding the right therapist is a critical part of that.

How Do I Get Started?

It’s easy to begin. You can reach out directly through the contact page or email me to schedule your free 15-minute consultation. I’ll walk you through next steps and answer any questions you might have.

Do you Offer Virtual Therapy?

Yes. I offer secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual therapy for clients across Georgia and Florida, in addition to in-person sessions in Decatur, GA. Virtual sessions are a flexible, contact-free option that many clients prefer for convenience and accessibility.

What If I Need to Cancel a Session?

Life happens! I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or reschedules. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be subject to the full session fee.

    Answers to Your Questions

    How Much Does Therapy Cost?

My session fees are as follows:

    Individual therapy (50 minutes): $185
Couples or family therapy (50 minutes): $200

I offer both in-person sessions in Decatur, GA and virtual therapy for clients located in Georgia and Florida.

    Do You Accept Insurance?

I do not bill insurance directly, but I’m happy to provide a Superbill—a detailed receipt you can submit to your insurance provider. Depending on your plan, you may receive partial reimbursement through your out-of-network benefits.

To find out if your plan includes this option, I recommend calling your insurance company and asking:
  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
  • What percentage of therapy sessions is reimbursed?
  • Is there a deductible I need to meet first?
  • Are virtual/telehealth sessions covered?
  • Do I need a referral from a primary care physician?
  • What is a Good Faith Estimate?

In compliance with the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of expected charges for services if you’re not using insurance.
  • This estimate includes the total cost of non-emergency services and any related fees.
  • You’ll receive a written GFE at least one business day before your session.
  • If you receive a bill that’s $400 or more above your estimate, you can dispute the charges.
  • Visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 404-309-5789 for more information about your rights.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Payment is due at the time of service. I accept:
  • All major credit and debit cards
  • Health Savings Accounts (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)

  • All payments are processed securely through my online client portal.

Do you offer a sliding scale or student discounts?

I believe everyone deserves access to quality care. I have limited sliding scale spots available based on financial need. If I’m not able to accommodate you, I can refer you to other trusted, affordable community options.
