From My Own Healing to Helping You | Chris Dorsey, Therapist in Decatur GA
I’ve Been Where You Are Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming. You want someone who truly understands—not just professionally, but…
At Dignity Counseling, I’ve created a space where you can breathe, reflect, and heal without judgment or pressure.
I believe you can find balance, understanding, and peace.
For years, I thought I needed to handle things on my own to be strong. It wasn’t until I found support through therapy that I realized true strength comes from allowing yourself to be seen, to be supported, and to heal in your own way.
My path to becoming a therapist was shaped by personal experience and professional dedication. Before Dignity Counseling, I worked in hospice and palliative care, helping individuals and families find meaning and comfort through life’s most difficult transitions. This work solidified my belief that everyone’s story deserves to be honored and that healing can be found at any stage of life.

Life can be overwhelming. Whether it’s the weight of anxiety, the pain of grief, or the uncertainty of change, you may feel stuck. You don’t have to go through it alone.
At Dignity Counseling, I believe healing happens in a space where you feel heard, valued, and understood. Therapy with me isn’t about finding quick fixes—it’s about helping you reconnect with your inner wisdom and creating a life that feels right for you.
I specialize in dignity therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, and evidence-based counseling approaches, providing you with the tools to process your emotions, navigate transitions, and reclaim your peace of mind.
Therapy should feel empowering, not intimidating. My approach is built on compassion, collaboration, and practicality. Ultimately, I want to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
